The year was 1964 when Mick Bugden won this thrilling championship, Mick Waite was a junior that same year as Dave Knight won his event becoming the Junior Champion.

This was the supporting race to the IOW 3 Day stage race
which later became the Moreys 3 Day in the eighties.

Dave Knight was the only finisher, 24 years later in 1987
Dave Knight won the BC VETS National Road Race Championship
over a course that included some of the same roads.

Mick Waite has been busy going through some of the past history of the St Raphael riders & will be placing a few articles in the Club History section of some of these riders.

The first being Mark Armstrong, a gutsy rider from the Isle of Wight who rode in VC colours some twenty plus years ago.
