Many thanks to Jack for taking time out to share his blog with us and his first weeks experience of being back in Belguim racing.......a great first hand insight!

I'm back out in Belgium, both previous times out here I have written a blog for the Cycle Time Trial website, and I found it a good way for keeping everybody at home up to date, in what I am getting up to, whether it be family, friends or just fellow cyclist with a interest. Yet again, I'll straight up apologise for any grammatical mistakes, should hopefully improved from previous years as I have written a 8,500 word dissertation this year, which made some sort of sense.

Due to the forecast of more rain and high winds over the weekend Mick Waite the organiser has very reluctantly decided to cancel this year's Perfs. Mick said "My main priority is rider safety and on my drive around the revised course today (Thursday) there is an unacceptable amount of surface water which cannot drain away as the ditches and fields are full. Riders will have their entry fee refunded ASAP but please allow me time to collect bank details and action refunds".

James Wilson a 1st category rider from Newbury has joined VC for 2014. James is an attacking road and circuit rider who over the past two seasons has been a winner at Ludgershall Circuit and has had good placings in National 'B' road events.

In the main event of the day it was Simon Brooks who showed that he can win in a variety of ways. Repeated attacks by Steve Cottington (Cadence RT) saw him eventually stay clear of the bunch, only to be joined by St RaphaelĂ‚ new siginingĂ‚ David Billings. The duo worked well together whilst Brooks bided his time in the group.

With the Calshot Winter Track League starting this weekend (2nd November) Frank Kilsby will have another team mate to tackle the wooden boards in the form of Charlie Cooper who will be teaming up alongside Frank and competing in the 'A' League.

Further reports will appear as the league starts to take shape!

The women had their 500m TT tonight and it was the kilo TT for the men.

Madeline Moore did a pb with 37.322 for 11th place and Laura Clode did a pb also with 38.587 for 16th place. Brilliant rides from them both.

Ben Elliot did a 1.07.483, no pb today for Ben but still good enough for 13th place.  Rowan Elliot did a 1.08.541 and only 2 tenths of his pb for 16th place.  Again, brilliant rides from both.

Many thanks for this report from Rusine Heald

The men's team sprint was an interesting one with teams getting relegated in each round for not changing correctly, but thankfully not us. Dave Heald, Rowan Elliott and Ben Elliott recorded 49.822 in qualifiers to place 8th and get the joy of riding against the fastest team in the semis. They improved slightly in the semis for 49.550 which secured them 7th overall in the end.
